Yala (Ruhuna) National Park, the second largest and most visited national park in Sri Lanka, spans an impressive 151,778 hectares across five blocks, with Block I open to the public. Located about 300 kilometers from Colombo, the park’s mildly undulating landscape rises from the coast to elevations of 100-125 meters inland. The best time to visit Yala is from February to July, when water levels are low, enhancing wildlife visibility.
